Week 10/2-10/6

Starting Monday with Tragedy in the distance

It was a rough morning for some on the first Monday of the month. Together we grieve for yet another random act of violence, that no one had control over. As we all face this tragedy together with our families or in our schools, we are grateful to share the following resources that may be helpful for principals, teachers and parents (special thanks to Dr. Heather Banis from the Victims Assistance Ministry office for providing this information):

How to talk to children about shootings: An age by age guide

Talking to children about violence: Tips for parents and teachers

TICKETS IN CUBBIES: Starting today (Monday) and daily until the event on Tuesday your tickets will be placed in your child's cubby.  Anyone who does not pick up their tickets by end of school Tuesday, Mrs. Jamie Cavanaugh will be at the theater early with extra tickets in hand for those who pre-paid but may not have grabbed their envelope from school. Or those last minute purchasers!

STILL DEBATING IF YOU WILL ATTEND: Anyone who did not pre-order but still wishes to attend can buy tickets from Jamie (PAB Member) at the door before the movie.  Jamie will arrive about 20-30 minutes before the movie starts.

DOUBLE FEATURE: due to the shorter run time of only 26 minutes for the movie, there will be a 'double feature' of It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown and A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.

LOOKING FOR A SERVICE HOUR?

Volunteer to help out on the 15th with a teacher. Man the table and help talk to interested families about why you love our school! Bring your little one dressed in their school's best uniform! Please email me which mass you'd like to attend and I will write you down!

MASS TIMES: 8am, 10am, 12noon, 5pm, 7pm

Still needing Virtus training?

We are in the process of setting a date for a school parent/volunteer only training. If you are still needing the virtus training, please email me with a day of the week and time preference so that I may determine a date and time that is convenient to all or most!

::::::::::Unveiling of Fundraiser Event::::::::::

As you may or may not know, this year we have decided to stray way from our historical Casino Night fundraiser, and attempt a new venture. This year our fundraiser will be on April 21st from 10:00am-4:00pm.

November 7th, at 6:30pm West Hall

PAB will be announcing their plan on the 7th, in the West Hall of the church. Please mark your calendars and make time to attend. Not only to see how this event will be rolled out, but also how you can help. Remember 2 hours are required to dedicate for our fundraiser event. All attendees will be able to get one service hour for the evening.
