Week 10/30-11/3

Celebrating All Saints:

Father Riz shared a small para liturgy about the importance of Saints and how we can look to them for guidance and as examples of staying committed to their faith. We watched a power point with beautiful visuals of pictures of saints. Some of us were able to dress like saints!

Your PAB President

October was a busy month! Thank you to everyone who participated in our restaurant fundraiser at Studio Movie Grill. Together we raised $365 for our school that the Parent Advisory Board will put towards educational, fun onsite field trips.

Field Trips such as this month’s visit from Animal Tracks. The students met and learned about many interesting animals, including a kangaroo, an alligator, and a monkey!

This month our school families also had another opportunity to meet and socialize during Family Bowling Night at Harvey Valley Bowl. It was a night full of laughter and friendly competition for parents, teachers, and students alike.

Finally, thank you to the wonderful volunteers who helped at the Halloween Carnival. The children had so much fun playing games and winning prizes in their adorable Halloween costumes. Thank you again for your continued support and we hope your families had as much fun as we did this month!

Parent Board Suggestion Box

Thank you to those of you who submitted your questions to our suggestion box this month. The questions were reviewed during our October Parent Advisory Board meeting and we have included the response provided to us by our Principal and Staff.

Q: Can the school purchase water play stations for after school care on both sides of the school?

A: This year after school care takes place in Room 1 and outside playtime occurs on the Room 1 and Room 2 playground. This playground is equipped with a water play station for the children to enjoy during warm weather.

Q: Can the Parent Advisory Board raise money to purchase an entrance keypad for the school?

A: There is a safety concern in allowing access to the school using a keypad and code. Doors are kept locked and opened only by staff members with a key to ensure the greatest safety for our children. The school will continue to require that all parents and visitors check into the office and request entrance into the school.

Kindergarten's Food Pantry Collection:

Mrs. Meyer has been working with the students about how to help others who are less fortunate. This includes what St. Peter Claver Parish does for our less fortunate members of this community. Kindergarten has posted a bin in the hall way, please help out by donating items, you may even have in your own pantry. Such items include: soups, mac & cheese, peanut butter, jelly, dried pasta, pasta sauce, rice, canned vegetables/fruit.
