This week's break down!
The little ones used Chemistry to make homemade plastic using simple house hold ingredients of milk and vinegar!
These tiny tots talked like scientists and Mrs. Adele discussed the special terminology such as hypothesis, tests, and results! Then they were able to watch milk explode for an experiment!
We used dish soap and food coloring to make pictures in milk! We also picked items in our classroom and decided which would melt. Then we tested the items in the experiment to observe which ones did melt. We posted the results are outside the classroom.
We learned about the water cycle. To see it in action we made baggies filled with water to hang in the windows. We also used some water to make water colored window art.
For the last day of the week, we continued with the water and water-colors, we mixed water and different colored oils and observed that water and oil didn't mix!
MONDAY We all watched as Ms. Shannon poured Mentos into Coke bottles! We loved watching the soda shoot up to the sky! We also made our own slime and inspected different animals with magnifying glasses.
TUESDAY We used syringes to pour colored vinegar into baking soda! We were so fascinated to see it bubble and we tried to get the biggest fizz we could! We also enjoyed some sensory play with shaving cream!
WEDNESDAY Our Monday, Wednesday, Friday friends also got to enjoy the baking soda and vinegar experiment! We also created our own colored celery and walking rainbow using only the primary colors!
THURSDAY Mad Science day! We all loved our on site field trip with mad science! We learned about physical and chemical changes and we were able to sit under dry ice fog! We ended our day with an experiment to make gummy worms dance!
FRIDAY We each made a hypothesis about what would happen to Skittles when you put them in water. We watched as the Skittles turned white, the water changed colors, and the "s" on the Skittle floated to the top!
MUSIC WEEK WITH A MUSICAL PERFORMANCE ON THE 28TH!
