Sports Week!

Kicking off Summer Right!

This summer we're starting camp with a warm welcome with sports. What better way then to start off introducing what it is like to be a team player and use team work to accomplish anything.

MONDAY

Room 1

Along with learning all about the fourth of July, special colors of the flag, and fireworks, we also made a baseball!

Room 2

We spent the day making Fourth of July art projects and slime! We also played pom pom hockey! We used brooms and small puff balls and tried to score points!

TUESDAY

Room 1

With Mrs. Jennifer we practiced shooting hoops with basket ball! The hoops were made with pool noodles and taped them up on the wall. We had high hoops and low hoops!

Room 2

We tested our bat and ball skills playing baseball! We loved being able to hit the ball across the yard and trying to catch the ball! We then read a story about eating healthy and graphed our favorite sports and vegetables!

WEDNESDAY

Room 2

Basketball Day! We went outside and some of us were able to score over 10 baskets! We then did some basketball math! We tried to shoot our "basketballs" into numbered cups and some of us tried to add the numbers together. We ended the day with a football field art project.

Room 1

The little ones gave football a try! Mrs. Chyanne had the children practice throwing a football and they read the story "T is for Touchdown"!

THURSDAY

Room 2

Spent the day decorating and flying their own Frisbee made out of plastic plates! We went to the large grass area and tried to throw them as far as we could! We then did a direct a draw where we drew different types of sport equipment! You can see them hung in the classroom!

Room 1

Mrs. Jennifer used the same pool noodles from the basket hoops to make hockey pucks! The children had a blast practicing hockey in the hall way of the school using the pool noodles and plates as pucks! You can always recreate these activities at home, especially for hot days, keep the kids indoors and encourage active play! For older siblings, they can play hockey on their knees!

FRIDAY

We finished off the week solid with some real soccer fun! We had a guest coach, Mrs. Danyelle Ripling show us some signature moves to be at the top of our game!
