Week 8/21-8/25

All the special things

about our school

I assume that one of the reasons that your child is here at St. Peter Claver, is that we stand out above the rest. It could also be that along with the teachings of our faith, the fact that we treat one another as our extended family. Every teacher here strives to make sure that every child feels special and heard.

Goals for this new setting are teaching children how to talk to each other. Phrases like, "making good choices", "use your words", and "we are family" are repeated over and over. We encourage you to use them at home, and also, check in with your teacher about other useful phrases that can be shared from home to school and school to home!

Learning their classroom routines

Reconecting with familar faces and making new friends

Talking about rules to respect others, teachers, and classrooms

Locking down on Morning Buisness

As you may or may not know, I have manually added in the charge for August in SmartCare. Please take a moment to check that the charge is accurate. If it is not, please come talk to me or email me with any questions or clarifications.

The next bill will be automatic, and this will be our first attempt with the set up. Please again if there are any problems, contact me. If you need a new link to set up your account and to download the app, or if you need key tags please let me know via email! I had so many this week that asked and missed a few names.

If you were unable to attend our back to school night, it was mentioned that until we as a staff and parents master the sign in/out process through the smartcare, everyone will need to both sign in with the app and provide a physical signature.  I understand this may be an inconvenience for some, however it is extremely important to have record that each child is accounted for.

To help accommodate in this process is that the main school doors will be open 10 mins before pick up and drop off. That little extra time will help with navigating the app and providing a physical signature, and of course gathering things out of the cubby!

Lastly please note, that when signing in or out, click the little circle below the child's picture.
